You shouldn't stop drinking water during the day.

I completely understand your dilemma, I am an athlete and need to get in more than the 8 glasses recommended. I normally start my day with 1 or 2 glasses, doing this also helps wake me up. I carry a large nalgene bottle with me ever day and I know that I need to drink about two of them. Throughout the day I drink water slowly, never slamming a glass of water. I find when I drink it slowly I don't have to rush to the bathroom as often, maybe 4 times during the day. So my trick is to just drink it slowly.

Also, it sometimes does take a while to get your body used to drinking the proper amount of water so if this is a new routine for you it will get better.

Well your body is dumping what it dosent need. As a rule of thumb I use the pee colour test. If it is clear and has no colour I figure I am full hydrated and can reduce how much water I intake. If your pee is yellow in colour you should keep up with the water, if your goal is to not get dehydrated. Generally I think it's not a problem with you, again your taking in more than you need, and your body is getting rid of it. If you goal is to lose weight, you drink to curb hunger and the extra washroom breaks are a price you'll pay.

You need a proper amount of water each day to keep your metabolism even. As you grow older your kidneys get weaker and you have to relieve yourself more often. Also have your prostrate gland checked by a doctor and get screened for diabetes. Don't quit drinking water.

If you are urinating that often, you may have a physical condition that should be treated. See a doctor.
