6 tests....six NEGATIVE tests over a 6 week period...once a week for six weeks. That's what happened to me. And no, I didn't have sex during that period so I was either pregnant the whole time or I wasn't. On the 7th week, I was taking a test just to make sure I wasn't pregnant...and turns out, I was. In fact, I took another test (8th) and it too was positive. So I was at least 7 weeks along, right? I got a blood test and it showed I was pregnant. I went to my OB/Gyn and I was actually 10 weeks along.

On top of all that, I used all different brands. Expensive, cheap, etc. So it wasn't the brand I used or some fluke in the test. The 7th test I took was the same brand I used the very first time and it was positive. It just amazed me that it never showed up.

So yes, you can definitely be pregnant. Get a blood test in a few weeks if your tests keep showing up negative and you haven't started your period. They will be able to tell that way.

Good luck!

Sure. If you don't use enough urine, it could just not have gone all the way across the strip to the test line area. Or you might just be one of those women who don't test positive until much later. The test you choose doesn't really matter (cheap or not). They all test for the same thing; hcg. It's either there or it isn't.

I'd test again and make sure that you hold the strip in the urine as long as it says to (usually anywhere from 5-20 seconds).

Good luck!!

It could definitely be a false negative. I would retest. I really think you should follow the directions implicitly-- First Response is pretty easy. You pee in a cup, dip the test in for 5 seconds put the cap on, and then lay it on the counter for 3 minutes, then look!

Best wishes for a BFP (big fat positive!)

I was almost two weeks late, when I finally got a positive test result. Late ovulation meant that implantation was later and it took longer for hormone levels to be detected. So you should go to your Dr.

Go buy a different one and do it according to the instruction before you worry about anything. If you really want to know, go see a doctor.

Stress, weight gain, weight loss, exercise, and illness can all cause missed periods. Sometimes it just skips.
