she wants to hang it on her door frame, but since it's an "indoor" door, there isn't a place to hang it. What's the next best option, 1. on the front of the door frame, or 2. on the inside of the door frame? Any other options?

I would put it as close to the door as possible, probably on the frame...at eye level, so you are aware of it every time you pass.

I am a Christian and I own a mezzuzah. It has within it a beautiful prayer: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and strength."
Usually you hang it on a slant on the inside door frame as you are leaving your house. You could call any synagogue for instructions.
