Getting your blood pressure down is very important for both you and the baby. Check with your doctor and follow his directions. Watch your sodium intake, because salt (sodium) causes your body to retain water which increases blood pressure. You will be surprised at how much sodium is in prepared foods.
It is possible to lose your mucous plug without realizing it; when your cervix begins to efface and dilate it will be released, and as you know this can mean labor in just a few hours, or a few days. this varies from woman to woman, please don't stress out over this. you WILL have your baby, probably before next Christmas even! ;)
best wishes for a lovely bouncing baby and a great delivery,

I lost my plugs with my children at about 39 weeks. And then I had them just a few days later. As for the swelling, try drinking distilled water or at least not tap water. It tends to contain more salt (the tap water), which is not what you need right now, to get the swelling down. But unfortunately, you may just have to deal with the swelling, it's only a couple more weeks, just keep your spirits up, it's almost over.

i lost my mucus plug in a span of a week, i didnt lose it all at once, some women do. i had my son a week later. it can happen anytime doesnt mean that you will wait a week after losing yours, you could lose it the same day you go into labor.
the swelling...the best thing i know is to stay off your feet for a few days. put yourself on bedrest lol good luck to you i hope all goes well.

you have a swelling hands and ankle? do you have pre-eclampsia? do not drink too much water cause you have an edema ,, there is no cure for pre-ec, giving birth to your baby is the only way to lower down your blood pressure. losing of the mucous are not in the same weeks, it can be different from yours and other pregnant women, the earliest are mostly transparent to pinkish to light red color of mucous, then the latest sign is mucous red blood color.

The mucus plus is different from every woman. I didn't lose mine until my water broke at 39 weeks, and I was already in labor at the time.
