It's ok, nothin is wrong. It's just updatin ur iPod, u knw...charging it, anything new that u added to ur iTunes it directly puts it on ur iPod. The "Do Not Disconnect" will go away until ur iPod is finished updatin it and goes back to ur iPod Menu. So there's notin to worry about. Just DON'T unplug it when it says "Do Not Disconnect". Cuz it will kinda mess ur iPod up then freeze it. If that does happen this is how to unfreeze it...
Just follow these steps :)
1.) Press the Menu button and the Select button( the center button) BOTH @ the same time.
2.) Hold them down for 6-10 seconds or until you c the Apple Logo
3.) Let go of Menu and Select
4.) Then it should be ok!
5.) Now you're finished! :)
Hope things go well... :)

It's not a problem, it just means that iTunes is probably updating your iPod, don't worry about it. If you want to disconnect your iPod, in iTunes just click on the arrow next to your iPod in the menu, on the side. I reccomend that you 'Safely Remove' it from Windows also.
Read through the frequently asked questions, in the Apple iPod Support website, you'll gain a lot of information there.
Here's the link: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/

It will keep saying that until your computer is done updating to the nano. If nothing is being updated then you can click the little eject button next to the words that say "my ipod" in itunes.

When your i-pod is either plugged into your computer or charging, it will say do not dissconnect. This is because it's in the middle of a process. Just wait until it is finnished and it should turn off. Also in some case it's actually impossible to dissconnect your i-pod because it has a lock on it, and it wont unlock until it is done what ever process is taking place.

Because its in the charger it's still being updated and if you disconect it from the computer charger it will cancel updating new songs and videos to your iPod. It's really not a big deal if you take it out of the charger when it says do not disconect because it will finish updating it when you put it in next time.

Well its quite self-explanatory! By disconnecting, faults and errors may accur on you i-pod. It is also charging when this message is on. The safest way to disconnect is to use the eject i-pod in imode. Good luck and happy i-poding! C.

There's nothing "wrong".
Your nano is being synced and updated and checked for firmware revisions and such when you connect it and it shows you that message. You don't wanna disconnect it while it's doing that.
It probably wouldn't hurt it if you did, but why risk it?

It's probably doing stuff - transferring songs from itunes. The message should go when it's finished.

it is either charging or uploading when it says that. Make sure it is safe before you take it out or you can screw it up.
