How many of you out there think that it's wrong to have a member of our senate or congress to have citizenships in more than just our country? We have several, and I just don't believe that they can have our best interest in mind when making decisions that can benefit their other country as well... what do you think?

I don't like to be the one to name names... People who point fingers in this country get their fingers cut off as of late. Go to judicialinc.com or whatreallyhappened.com and browse around.
Also, I think a few of you don't realize that if you are a citizen of two countries that if a situation occurs that involves both, your judgement of what is best for America will be clouded by your love of the other country. If you are in American politicts, it is essential that you be unitarian.

As a Unitarian Universalist, I find it amusing that you think that you should be "Unitarian" to serve in public office. That will certainly come as a blow to the conservative Christian right.
Seems to me that we all need to be developing a more global perspective in how we run things on the big blue ball we call Earth, so I suggest we get rid of the nationalistic notion and declare one citizenship, that of Earth. I've always liked the word Terrans for people of earth. It really is time we quit the us and them train of thought and looked out for everyone.

I don't have a problem with this situation. It takes more than just one individual in the congress to pass legislation.
What i do have a problem with is allowing our elected officials to get away with not working atleast 40 hours a week in session dealing with the issues that plaque our Country. I want them in session every work day mon-fri. Debating the issues and holding hearings.
They can let the staffers do the paperwork, they need to address all the issues not just their own pet projects.
I too would like to see your source for this claim of dual citizenship, If i see who they are maybe i'll start bitchen about this too.

Its a question of WHY they have citizenship in more than one country. If they are immigrants to the US and have taken the steps to become American citizens, then I say, "Good for you!" If they, however, have citizenships elsewhere for political or financial reasons (ie. tax shelters), then this should be investigated and rooted out. Holding multiple citizenships is not a bad thing...but the reasons may be...

I'd sure like to see your documentation and the names of the congress members that have dual citizenship. Could you add that to your question?

as long as they start reading the bills in their entirety, and start voting down the ones that aren't beneficial to America, i could care less.
I see your point, and it is something to be concerned about, but our lawmakers not having the time to read and understand each and every piece of legislation they vote on is more of a threat to America than anything else. the real scary thing, is it happens constantly.

I am.. I am following it VERY VERY closely... One of our own Senators or any politician having a dual citizenship is totally wrong but that is minor to the other crimes they are committing
