That's tough. Regardless of whether you think you're innocent, the law has determined that you were guilty of said crime.

I've had a friend's mother go to jail for embezzlement [She was an accountant]. Years after she was released, she went through an employment agency, but it was still tough for her to find a job. She eventually found one, but it took a long time.

I also had an acquaintance who worked for the bank and stole close to a million from customers. He was caught, sentenced, and later released on parole. His only way of finding a job was through a friend.

Find a friend or a family member who could possibly help you out. It's probably your best chance. Any other job application will only result in a background check and disappointment.

Errm... find a company that makes money through embezzlement I guess. However, if there IS such a company, and they know that you were caught, chances are that they will think that you're not careful enough and won't hire you anyway...

Other than that, convince them that you're a changed person and pray for the best. Some people give second chances.

You lost trust. You understand now how this is?

For one thing, you'll never again, in all likelihood, hold a job with access to money. Whether anyone will trust you with anything is another question.

You might move to another country, start fresh, with a new identity. If you join the French Foreign Legion, they will give you a new identity, citizenship in France, and a fresh start in life. I doubt they will put you in the personnel section, but you may prove your worth and gain trust by showing you can be a good infantryman.

If you don't care for the FL angle, try finding someone in Rio di Janeiro, Freeport, Bahamas, or Johannesburg, who will give you a new identification, a new identity. You'll have to pay. Understand, you will not in your lifetime be returning to your former haunts or life. This is the breaks, good fellow. Take them, grin, and bear it. I wish you, sincerely, good luck.

You basically will need a job that doesn not include a background check. Even companies that do not handle money will see that as a major problem.
