I am only concerned with American deaths, isn't that what the Media is always talking about, Americans Bush has killed...if you do the math 2.3 Americans are killed in ALL of Iraq each day compared to 1.5 in New York City alone...so it is easy to say New York is almost as dangerous for Americans as Iraq....

I guess Liberals do not understand sarcasm…the point of this question was to show the hypocrisy of the news media…they love to report how many American soldiers are killed in Iraq, instead of the great work my fellow soldiers are doing…in my opinion they are taking the light off the unbelievable crime/murder rate that we have here in the United States

…if they want to show death and gore on the nightly news all they have to do is show any one of the large cities here in the US…but since cities like New York are Liberal towns they do not…they would rather bash the President and our troops than talk about the problems that are faced here in our country…or hell even give a solution for the problems we face in Iraq…I thought the Democrats were going to have the answers...I guess not….I love to see how people if they do not agree with you will attack you personally, instead of having a civilized debate…name calling only occurs when you have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation…the Liberal Motto: FREE SPEECH AS LONG AS WE AGREE WITH YOU!!!

I DO count the number of Iraqi civilians, since that's who we're supposed to be restoring the country for, right? Or are you still looking for the link to Osama bin Laden over there? Jackass.
Also consider that all of the people in New York City killed are Americans. If we do the math (1.5 out of 8 Million or 2.3 out of 150,000), Iraq is a lot more dangerous.

Excellent points:
I totally agree. We should stay and finish this darn thing.
As a side note: total 8.9 Million soldiers died in WW1 of those about 126,000 were Americans. Russia and France with over a million each.
I find it sad that we whine about one or two deaths in a war on a day. When 600,000 Americans Died in 3 Days at gettysburg.
I know any death is unforunate but: No terror attacks since 9/11 in America. Heck, none in the world that I know of since that London attack. So, we have sucked them all into Iraq and are trying to defeat them there.
I wish people could see the carnage of previous wars. The iraqi war is fairly safe when compared to death tolls of the 1000's of other wars.

If we were to take the money we have spent on this senseless war and use to find solutions for our social problems we would not have a murder or drug problem in New York or anywhere else.

If you do the math, over 95% of those 2.3 troops killed in Iraq every day are killed in Baghdad. So, Baghdad is 50% more dangerous to Americans than New York City and those Americans in Baghdad have body armor and guns to defend themselves, so when you factor that in Baghdad is probably 10 times more dangerous than New York City.

Maybe the uber-libs should scream that our security forces there (police) have no business being there. Since the criminals (which are a minority there) never wanted them there and want to control through force and fear, we should just cut our losses and leave. Instead of helping make things better, the NYers should be left to their own demise at the hands of the violent criminals.
After all... that is their Iraq argument

The question is brilliant, if a bit ironic.
You are taking cognizance of the fact that the Islamist terror groups work on the basis that the more people they kill--whether in Iraq or Israel--the sooner we will want to pullout.
Our response should be, as the asker implies--to dig our heels in even deeper.

Pull out of our own city? NO. Pull out of a foreign city? YES. Maybe if we'd have had those troops at work here in New York innocent civilians of OURS wouldn't have died.
Its a crying shame that you dad didn't pull out
How many times did the medic discharge in your face before they sent you home, btw?

How many of the killings were triggered by domestic disturbances? I don't know how many dysfunctional families are in New York, but I seriously doubt we'll be pulling out. The majors in the units are too gung ho to keep on delivering orders.

I would not want to live in that modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah Hillary-ville anyway. If they would execute the murderers and lock up the deadbeat criminals instead of letting them be "rehabilitated" -- true meaning, learn to be better trained criminals-- the place might improve.
