I work in a shop and I have not seen many problems out of them, I do know that they are a blast to drive especially the SRT-8

I own the 300c, it's a 2006.
I've heard from the dealer that the transmissions have problems, but so far mine has been fine. Though it only has 11k miles on it.

It's roomy enough to fit 5 adults very comfortably and is the smoothest car I've ever had.

I would not suggest the 300 (the v6 model) as it's pretty gutless as far as power goes. Also, you do not get the upgraded wheels (even though they are just chrome plated plastic, they still look nicer) and you do not get the chrome door handles and rearview mirrors.

The car has an amazingly smooth ride and with 340 HP it's extremely fun to drive.

Not to mention how stylish the car is, it's the hippest car on the road.

The SRT8 that was mentioned in the previous answers is a great car too, but with a sticker price of $45k in my area it was too pricey. Also in California here they tax it extra as it's a fuel guzzler.

Be on the lookout too, as Chrysler is looking at releasing an extended wheel base version. It's got a whooping price tag, but the backseat is like a limo.

Also, the Chrysler Imperial is coming out soon. When I'm tired of my 300c I think I'm going to jump on that. That car is smokin' hot.

I drive a 300 with the 2.6L. I like it a lot, a real head turner. No problems with the engine or tranny. 60,000 mi. on an '05. I drive it a lto for work.
There have been a couple problems:
1. Tie rod ends. They now need replaced.
2. Front end alignment. I had this done and they had to drop the entire front end. Took half a day.
3. Wiper control is a little flaky.
4. The Valvoline lube joint didn't put the oil pan cover on correctly and while going down the highway it started dragging. Had to take it off. Is it too confusing for underachieving grease monkeys?

Anyhow, I love it. Unfortunately my company is going to the Charger for my next car.

I have an 05 model 300C(5.7LHEMIV8) and my sister has the 05 Touring (3.5LV6). The response above pretty much sums up the car as a whole. My advantage over hers: The 300C is extremely light on its feet (I almost see no reason for an SRT-8!). Her advantage over mine: The 300Touring is a much more smooth and quiet ride and of course better gas mileage.

The 300 series rides on the same chassis as the E series Mercedes. The build quality is excellent. I'd stick with the 3.5 liter V6 as gas will be over 3 bucks within the next year or so. If you're looking for performance, the SRT8 is your car. It has a top end of about 155mph.

It's a great car. Theres alot of Mercedes in it. Its built on the E-class frame,Mercedes transmission, and if you look closley,it also has some of the same control knobs as the Mercedes. With its wider stance and 120 in. wheel base,it offers a great ride and with its 5 link suspension you hardly feel the imperfections on the road. It also has a really tight turning radius as well. With it being a rear wheel drive,Chrysler found a way to give it an almost 50/50 wieght dist.

It made Car&Drivers "Ten Best" list this year. That means something. Some other cars on the list were the BMW 3 series, and the Honda Accord.

yes it is.... my mother owns a 2005 V6 one and she drives back and forth from philly everyday... and so far not one problem.... and thats a 40 minute commute... pick up and passing is excellent.... roominess is excellent too.... i think the only flaw the 300 has it that it looks a lil too much like a cheap version of the bentley
