oops, that 50p more for her. How much pocket money she gets will depend on your financial situation. I'd probably give her £5 a week with clear guidelines of what that covers, but I'm a single mom and a student; that dictates what I could afford.

I used to get 50p a week and my brother 10 years younger got £10. Guess who's the chain smoking alcohol dependent loser?
What does a 14 year old need £10 a week for?

None she is old enough to get a paper round or something and earn her own money i have been working since i was 11 years old i am know 18 years old.
Yeah a paper round takes time and effort but it always feels better when you buy something with your own money. And you can actually say you have earned thet money at some shops like Hatchers etc take 15 year olds on so when shes 15 she could get a proper job.
Honestly i have never had pocket money and when i started earning when i turned 11 years old i even started buying my own school uniform.
Thanks to that silly little paper round i know what works is and even tho i am 18 years old i am working for Somerset County Council and syudying to be an accountant. Tell her to get a job instaed trust me it will help her and save you money.

50p per answer? Well, shes on about the 20 quid mark by now!
I'd say 10 quid is fine at 14. I should imagine you'll be paying for her clothes and food, so she shouldnt need much more than that!

I'm 14 and I just ask my parents for money. I have never been into the chores business. So if I was a good parent, I would give my kids 15-20 dollars a week. Sorry I dont know what all those weird symbols are lol

I don't give my kid an allowance he gets stickers when he helps around the house each "job" is worth 50 cents he can spend it each week or save it up, and this does not include cleaning his room that is a given' make them work and earn their money, I should get the 50p for that one!

I reckon three quid should cover it. If you spend wisely you can do a lot with 3 quid, spend all day travelling on the buses in Brighton.
Get a small portion of fish and chips.
Buy 3 things from the pound store. If you are well enough off a fiver would be better.

Give her a suitable allowance if she has good grades and does her chores. Teach her the value of money and have her open up an account. As she gets older have her start using her allowance to pay for her mobile phone, clothing, auto expenses, etc. Start getting her ready for what the real world is like. Earning your keep and living within your means.
