DUDE!!!! Congrats!!!! daygum, I wish I had a friend who'd give ME a winner!!! LOL

I say cash it!!! Buy you a house (if you don't already have a nice one,) a car if you need one, and then give the rest away to a local charity. I'm sure that guy standing on the side of the street with a cardboard sign in his hands would LOVE to have it! Just make sure his first stop ISN'T the liquor store!!! lol!!!

If things are perfect the way they are now, just give it away. If you know of a person or family who's on hard times right now, I'm sure they'd be more than appriciative to have it. (imagine the birthday present you'd get from them this year!!!) Or, cash it, and give it away, little by little. $100 here, $1000 there. Don't forget that sweet little (deserving!) kid who has almost nothing down the street, and buy them an amazing game system and a bunch of games. lol

Lucky you... such a problem.... I'd love to have that problem... lol

Again, congrats, and make someone have the best year ever! Happy new years dude!
;o)

Dude, if u think like that, i'm pretty sure money won't change you. It means you control the money, money doesn't control you.

If u were a very greedy, materialistic person, then money would really change you, plus you wouldn't even THINK about whether u should cash it in or not or if it would change you or not.

But hey, be careful! Don't throw it all away to other people, don't make "fake friends", and don't go into deals that u don't feel are good for ya just cause "you have enough money anyway".

It's ok. Have fun. Do sth good with it. Maybe invest or start a business.

Their is a saying about money that is often quoted wrong ' Money is the root of all evil' but the real quote is 'For the love of money is the root of all evil'. All I'm trying to say is don't let the money change you. Hold onto the values you have now. Give some away clear you debts and put some in savings.

It seems as though you have a good hand on your shoulders anyway and will do the right thing.

Hope all goes well whatever you decide to do.

I know what your saying my mum only had enough money for 4 games on lotto, didn't even eat meat during the week because she was too poor, much to my disgust when I found out but anyway

She won nearly half a million God love her.

She couldn't sleep or settle for weeks she was so worried about the gran kids getting kidnapped for the money and everything.etc.
People come out of the wood work wanting some of it (acquaintances)

anyway she bought a beautiful home (she loves it) we love visiting her in it, so much room to have our get togethers now.

She helped my children out (which she couldn't do with out it)
she donated some and shares her good fortune with others By the way I never asked for a cracker but Mum helped my kids and their children and that was wonderful

I love seeing her being able to do things she never could of done, just enjoying life and nothing bad happened she is angel and always was hasn't changed a bit.Eats more meat though now.You should have seen Christmas lunch this year.PS give a big chunk to the person that made it all possible and just don't get greedy

collect it
if you have doubts about money changing you then consider giiving it to the charities of your choice.. do soemthing positive with the money... dont let it go back to Camelot to be distirbuted according to politrical diktat. Do you want your 6 figure some to used for the Olympics

perhaps there are soem local charities close to home that could benefit (eg local hospice, local schools, local care organsiations). I dont know charities or organsiations that are trying to assist others in need in fields thgat interest you. Blind Dogs, Hearing Dogs, Animal Charities, Lifeboats, whatever.

think alos of the perosn who gave you the wining ticket, what would be their view if you decided not to claim the winnings... how would they feel... did they give the ticket to you becauas they wanted you to take advantge of the opportunity. Think hoiw you may feel if soemone spurned your gift... if you are unwilling to claim th emoney then consider returnign it to the donor and tell them your reasons.

mind you is it actually a genuine ticket.. or is it a variation of the Nigerain/African lottery scams that have been doing the rounds by email for the last few years

be strong cash it in but make youself a few rules that you stick to,like i will not allow this to make me feel any differently about life or people ,,,,,its down to you sweetie ,,,nothing will change you if thats how you feel ,,cos you wont allow it to happen ,,,,treat everyone just the same as you do now ,why should money change you ,,,,if this changes you and you lose all your friends, what life is there with out the people you love,,,,they must be worth more to you than money ,,,,why not treat them all ,show them how much you care for them ,and how little the money means to you ,,,,after all they have all loved you whilst you had nothing ,,,thats true love ,,,if need be tell no one you have this ,then no one will treat you any differently,,,,if i was given the choice to have the money and have it change me as a person ,,,i would burn it ,,,,i understand what you are saying ,but i think as you have very strong veiws on how you feel that you wil be just as loving and careing a person as you are now ,,,,but also if you can take this money ,stay the same person, then at least you have a secure future, and the means to help your loved ones if they have difficult times ,,,,i know you will make the right desition, all the best ,,,kat

If you are so concerned about being "changed," then perhaps cash in the ticket and spend a portion of the winnings on one or several charities, then invest the other amount.

There have been stories about lottery winners whose lives were torn apart by their financial windfall, and I'd probably have concerns similar to yours. But I believe that if you're grounded enough, you'll be as secure in wealth as you are without.

Good luck!

if you rally did win that much, cash it because money will change people for the worse when they are already money hungry... u sound like an acctually good content person... you seem to understand money is not everything but being happy and content with yourself and your life is more important... im sure people such as you will not change so drastically in that you become a money hungry power machine... money doesnt buy happiness but sence you have that why not a little more money to enjoy yourself a little more... you should probably cash it in, free money that can go towards taxes bills and possesions... just always be concious to never become money hungry and you will be fine...

The most common answer would be, "Give it to me!" Actually, cash it in and invest it immediately. Then you will get money monthly but in small amounts instead of a giant 6 figure sum. Also, read stories about others who won and don't do what they say was wrong but do what others said they did was right... Most are broke in 5 years or less! But some invested in what they like.. like to ski? Invest in a ski area or place... Like hobbies? Purchase a hobby shop and visit it regularly as your investment. Also, you could invest in people and give to those less fortunate...HUNGRY CHILDREN ALL OVER THE WORLD... GOD BLESS YOUR CHOICES

I dont know where you live, but here, a six figure will not dramaticaly change your life.
A decent house in the center of Rome can cost over 2 million dollars.
In any case, cash it, and give it to charity, or make a donation to your local hospital.
People will remember you as someone that did not go insane for winning some money.
