My best advice is to frame your plan for your life and hang it on a wall.

Yes we make our own choices in life- hence karma, but what is set out for us to do, weather we realize it or not, is usually not what we had planned.

The point is not reaching our destination but how we live our journey. We will always end up where we belong.

SO, enjoy the road we are able to decorate. Keep in mind about our gifts, talents and healing powers. We are never alone in the world and we can always communicate, find comfort in one another.

Theses are our tools for survival. This is our fate

If you tell the the starving kids in Somalia that "life is what you make it," they'll think you're crazy. They have no options. They will grow up disfigured and weak from their starvation (if they survive childhood) and as such be useless in their culture.

No one has total control over their fate. It varies depending on circumstances. Some people have more control than others, some have less, some have none (e.g. the kids in Somalia). But no one has complete control. That's a naive illusion.

Ever wonder if the victims of the Tsunami were making the best of their lives before they were killed by something they couldn't control? It doesn't matter, because they died anyway.

Most of us won't die so dramatically or tragically, but neither do we have any control over how and when we do die. This is another reason why life is NOT always what we make it, because we can't make ourselves survive death.

RE the Hemingway quote in the next response.

He was not the captain of his soul. His soul was robbed against his will when he suddenly lost the ability to write. He couldn't handle it, so he shot himself.

Some captain.

Fate is directly influenced by the choices we make everyday. Life is like a maze with many exits. Dependent upon which road we take, we will reach certain positive of negative ends. It's all what we choose that effects the out come of our lives and determines our fate.

Fate is very real my man!!

I've been around this world twice and seen some pretty terrible stuff. I've met people from every walk of life and not one person out there came across as someone I'd want to spend ten minutes with let alone my life. I had to come home to find her. Literally, one in a million.

In regards to fate life is like a game of poker. You have no control over the cards you are dealt but you do have control over what you do with them to a certain extent.

So, life is a mix of fate, luck and strategy.

Maybe a mix of both. I don't like the idea that everything i do is predetermined. I think that you make your own way in life but some things are just meant to be.

What you make of life is your fate!!! Don't just sit back and wait for things to happen...get out there and make it happen.

I believe that you were in heaven and you ask God if you could come to earth and God ask you what will you do and you told him.

Now your life on earth is to remember your promise to God and do it.

Fate maybe. Leaving this world a better place is all of our fates
