why is my modem getting hanged while connecting to internet?

iam using dialup modem [internal modem] that is digilink modem.when i clickon my modem to connect to internet my pc gets hanged and even the cursor. inspite of restarting the pc still it doesnt work.i uninstalled the modem and installed it then it doesnt connect. getting error msg 630 . your dialup networking is unable to connect to computer. plz can you guide me

Try opening the control panel, open the Network menu and remove everything, then reboot, the Network will be reinstalled.

maybe your dialing configuration is wrong. Check to see if you need to dial a 1 or the area code in addition to the dialing.
