It takes less than 9 hours.

You should go south on Route 220 which should take you across the Virginia border into North Carolina.

Shortly before reaching Greensboro, you should turn west toward Winston-Salem on Route 158.

In Winston-Salem, you turn south on Route 52 toward Salisbury.

Shortly before reaching Salisbury you merge into Highway 85 toward Charlotte.

In Charlotte, you turn south on Highway 77 which should take you into South Carolina.

Close to Columbia, you turn west into Highway 20 toward Georgia.

About halfway between Augusta and Atlanta, you turn south on Route 44 toward Eatonton.

In Eatonton, you turn south on Route 129 toward Macon.

In Macon, you turn on Highway 75.

Shortly after Cordele, you should turn west on Route 300 which should take you all the way to Albany.
