Well I don't know where you are moving from, or how far it is, but if you already think you might fall for someone else or you think he might, you should not make reassurances to each other.
Maybe you should just let your lives move on without making promises to each other you cannot keep. Holding together a long distance relationship is extremely hard, especially if you are young.
