As they say, "You can't fight city hall". I agree with you but most people don't understand what's going on with their taxes and most don't care..........

I agree - the ordinary man in the street gets taxed horrendously for driving a car.

For some of us there is no choice as the nature of our jobs demand it. And if the public transport system was adequate and reasonably priced there may be an argument to use it, but being in a frozen or sweltering train or bus, squashed like a sardine is not good for anyone's health.

And if the government claims to be so green, why don't they force all foreign trucks onto the rail network (like the channel tunnel link). That way they would only be using electricity (which they claim is so green), there would be little congestion, there would be far fewer accidents (check the stats on accidents caused by foreign lorries) and the roads would remain in a good condition for far longer - thereby removing the incessant roadworks which in turn cause further congestion.

They could also stop jetting all over the world - these politicians all preach green but that doesn't stop them holidaying regularly at long-haul destinations - duplicity!!!!!!!!!

Democracy is gone - politicians don't listen to the people. If they did there would be no troops in iraq, there would be no congestions charge, no council tax, I could go on and on.....

I agree with the sentiment, however not about the driver's bit.

Thatcher gave you the wrong impression when she was in power and convinced everyone that a car was a necessity in order to sell oil for Dennis.

The car is not a necessity, and to be honest if you want to use one you should pay through the nose all the time, in fact you should pay more. I am gonna stand up and say enough is enough on this issue.

Why should I cough dirty air, be subject to constant congestion, and see the world around me dying just so you can get yourself from a to b in comfort? You have inspired me! Enough is enough!

In the first place, this country is,and has been run by,untrustworthy, corrupt, lying politicians of all parties, all they have wanted to do is line their own pockets and ignore the peasants who put them where they are.If, by some quirk, a honest political party emerged who would put Britain first and not europe or their own wealth, then they would have a great majority in parliament. As for the police, they are utterly incompetant, they act as tax collectors for the venal government of the day,as for preventing or solving crime, don't expect too much, after all the may have to come outside to do that!

Thats a message that needs to be driven home to the American People! That THEY are in charge, not Mr. Bush. Hard to believe a President almost got impeached for lying about getting a ********, but this President continues to live comfortably after lying about his motives to go to war. GWB has turned the United States of America into a joke globally - and he has endangered the lives of all Americans with his warlord mentality. Speak up, people of America. Let your country and the world know that he does NOT represent you and your best interests!

GREAT point. When this happens in France, the people stop working and protest. The country grinds to a halt until they are listened to. Here, if we tried that the military would be out with mace until we were all either locked up or quivering at home, tail between legs. Our politics are corrupt and rotten to the core. It's too late to fix it. Guy Fawkes had the right idea.

Ok lets all refuse to pay the over priced council tax bills this year, cancel all your direct debits and dont pay a penny. They wont be able to take us all to court so will have to listen to our demands to reduce them!

I agree but unfortunately not everyone will stand up for the same things, some people think that anarchy is a good idea, were not all one mind and we never will be. the truth is a hard pill to swallow.
