Replace "x" in the equation with 3.

Then solve (2x +1). It should look like this; (2*3 + 1).Take that answer and multiply it by 2; 2(6+1) or 2(7) = 14.

Then solve (x-1); (3 -1) = (2). Take this and multiply it by 3, the 3 (x-1) sections; 3(2) = 6

So your entire equation should follow these steps:

2(2x +1) – 3(x-1) = 8
2(2*3+1) – 3(3-1) = 8
2(7) – 3(2) = 8
14 -6 = 8

Once you have completed these steps you should have 14 - 6 = 8 which is a correct statement.

Note: when solving an algebra equation always solve what is in parentheses first.

First, try to remove the ()'s, then [ ]'s, then the { }'s.
To do that, you must use the DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY of multiplication.

2(2x+1) - 3(x-1) will become 4x+2 - 3x+3.

(The sign in 3x+3 became positive because you multiplied to negative signs, which makes it a, positive. (-3 times -1)

Then, try to combine the like terms.

The like terms here would be:

4x and -3x and 2 and 3.

=Combine them (meaning add them), which will be x (4x-3x will be 1x, just deleting the 1), and 5.

=So the equation will now be: x+5 = 8.

Take note that if a number or variable does not have a sign, it is positive. So don't be confused. It should really be (+x+5 = 8).

So, to get the value of x, use the ADDITION PROPERTY OF EQUALITY, in which you would isolate the variable x.

By doing that, you should transpose the number in the side of x to the other side.

And as you transpose its side, you would also change its sign.

So the equation would be like this:

x+5-5=8-5.

or simply,

x=8-5.

Simplify that equation,

Which, (uhh) leaves, x=3.

There!

2(2x+1) - 3(x-1) = 8. Follow these steps:

1) First open the brackets. We get
4x + 2 - 3x+ 3 = 8
2) Take all x terms to a side and others to other side:
we get x = 8 - 5 = 3.
Thus x = 3!

start with 2(2x+1) - 3(x-1) = 8
Expand to 4x +2 - 3x +3 = 8
simpilfy to x + 5 =8
Then x = (8-5) = 3

you need to carry close this cloth; you received't bypass checks in case you do not carry close this; you'll use factoring in distinct destiny instructions which incorporates chemistry, physics, engineering, computing gadget technological knowledge, and so on. that is time to study i will coach the first; you do some thing else 3x^2 + 7 x = -2 3x^2 + 7 x + 2 = 0 this should be the format to element (3x + ) ( x + ) that is the start; obviously to get 3x^2 you want 3x and x because the first section contained in the respective parenthesis now for the "trick" or "secret" - you keep in mind that the superb numbers interior the parenthesis ought to = +2 at the same time as more suitable at the same time and at the same time as one quantity is more suitable with the help of 3x and the different with the help of x and both are extra at the same time it ought to = 7x obviously the basically 2 numbers which will nicely be more suitable to get 2 are both +a million and +2 or -a million and -2. in case you employ the detrimental pairs the 7x you want will be detrimental or -7x that's erroneous (verify it out and also you'll see that is the case). this suggests the pairs should be +a million and + 2; now you want to ask your self no matter if the +a million is going interior the first parenthesis or 2d and vice versa. try each and each to work out which works. you need to ask your self what numbers more suitable at the same time provides you you with the consistent which incorporates the helpful + or - signal and from there you try until eventually it suits. It receives less difficult with practice; hence because of this you've all the homework to do.

2(2x+1)-3(x-1)=8
(2*2x)+(2*1)+(-3*x)+(-3*-1)=8
4x+2-3x+3=8
x+5=8
x=8-5=3
the 1st thing is to distribute the #'s outside the parentheses the #'s 2&3 respectively.
then you have to combine the like terms such as the 4x and the
-3x and the 2 and the 3.
then you must perform the opposite operation in order to isolate the variable which results in 3 being your answer.
the best way for me to show you is to write it on a piece of paper and walk you through the steps.

1st, get the individual out from the brackets,
2(2x) + 2(1) - 3(x) + 3 (1) = 8
ie. 4x + 2 - 3x + 3 = 8

2nd, arrange the similar item together,
4x - 3x = 8 -2 -3

3rd, just minus and get the answer.
1x or x = 3

2(2x+1)-3(x-1)=8
First:
2(2x+1)=2*2x+2*1=4x+2
Second:
3(x-1)=3*x-3*1=3x-3
Third:
2(2x+1)-3(x-1)=8 is the same as
(4x+2)-(3x-3)=8 is the same as
4x+2-3x+3=8 is the same as
x+5=8 so
x=8-5 so
x=3
