Most Inuit folks don't bother with them, and if they do, it's only when out on the ice hunting old-style. The dome is one of the most sturdy shapes you can use for any structure, and packed, hardened snow is free in the area. The opening is small to hold in heat, and if you snooze in one, you make a bench of ice and lay nice, soft caribou furs on it. Wrap up in one and you're set! For light, an old-school soapstone oil lamp among friends and a few stories.

And for the ignorant gentleman above who did a god-awful "translation," the language is Inuktitut and the people are Inuit. Get it right or don't bother doing it.

Igloos are actually quite comfy. Because the ice and snow keeps it insulated, the temperature is much less cold than it is outside the igloo (of course, it's still dead cold). Also, igloos protect from the terrible winds. I would expect people go outside to relieve themselves. And I doubt they'd have a television.
Igloos are made out of ice and snow. For sleeping, there's usually some sort of a large hole in the ground covered by some sort of blanket or fur.

I don't think anyone actually lives in an igloo normally anymore. I know some people do it for fun in Alaska and Canada.

Interestingly enough, the igloo is in fact a toileting facility. Hence the word loo at the end. Ig means "dome of ice" in Eskimo. Therefore the proper translation for an igloo is a icy dome toilet. A hole is chopped out in the center and snow covers each contribution. Since it is so cold there is little odor.

Igloos are cold, wet, damp and stinky.

Living in one must be only slightly preferable to freezing to death.

I've heard they are quite comfortable. Hard to imagine and I have no idea about how they camp out in them but they make sense ecologically don't you think?
