That depends on your tastes, of course. There's a tremendous amount of variety to choose from. Many places in Hawaii are gorgeous with the beautiful tropical shoreline and rainforest. Alaska's scenery is awe-inspiring and offers amazing cruises to observe glaciers and land tours to see Danali National Park and a great place to go to animal watch. If you prefer a bit of civilization, I think Charlottesville, Va is a beautiful city surrounded by the incredible views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

It really depends on what you like. Consider the Grand Canyon - there is nothing else like it in the world.
Savannah, Georgia is a wonderful place to visit. If you like the excitement of lots of tourists in a very unique coastal town consider Key West, Florida. If you like beaches, consider the west coast of Florida. The eastern seaboard has unique towns and villages that have a very "New England" look and appeal.
