Get out and talk to people. Meet people who are interested in the things you are, and hang out. Don't try to make friends on the internet, not because of predators or anything, but online friends never last as long or as deep as real life friends.

Well, you should read How to win Friends and influence People. That is a great book and many people would find themselves with many loyal friends if they not only read it, but stuck to the basic principles of the book. It is an older book, and it will only cost you about 8 bucks brand new. Second-if you want to have friends-then be a friend! Be more friendly and kind to people. They will remember!

It depends on your age:when you are still at school:be open and talk to anybody about anything,join a sports club,go swim,.be out there.Invite people that you like here to become friends.Write a blog with stuff you like:invite people over there.
When you work,mingle,have lunches together,invite people to join you.Etc:go dancing,club-hoppingAt home you will accheive nothing.
Be friendly,you'll see it will work.

You get new friends by just being friendly to people.And remember every body can be friendly to you but not every body qualifies to be your friend.
