It was greatest ever known scientist SIR ISSAC NEWTON, who formulated laws gravitation along with theory of finite universe. up to now nobody has challenged his theory. according to that theory, then universe if finite, although it is still expanding (proved by Doppler effect i.e blue shift) but according to newton theory it will eventually contract one day and collapsed back to its origin i.e turn back into conditions like big-bang and then squeezed into pinhead size and then nothing will left. this is mathematical end of our universe. i.e it will be back on that condition from which it arouse. all the scientist believe on this theory and end result of universe.
so conclusion is universe will eventually contract and collapse one day.

THE UNIVERSE WILL EXPAND
as it is doing now, then pause,
then expand some more, pause,
and expand some more. Each
expansion will occur faster and
faster according to the rhythm
of a Nbr.5 Plethorialistic Synergism.
People on Earth will be unable to
watch this phenomena throughout its
entire harmonic cycle due to the vast
time periods and distances involved.
Lewis McGiver, III, has indicated to us
that bold new discoveries about the
universe are just around the corner.

They are still working on finding the mass of the universe, and that will better explain what the future holds. Recent studies show the mass is not enough for contraction, I don't know if I trust the methodology in them. I would like to see it done again with a few different parameters. The mass per degree second cubed I don't believe is a constant.

AH. good question. Death by fire or by ice. The answer is that it will expand to a point where the momentum of the matter in the universe can no longer overcome the force of gravity between them.

it will continue to expand according to current models. the universe also appears to be increasing its rate of expansion as it does so. however, this is only the best fit; later data may reveal a different story.

If Rosie O'Donnell can't find a way to put down the Twinkie boxes, the universe will have to keep expanding to accommodate her girth

Universe will expand for certain period of time...but eventually will begin to shrink....it will shrink to a size of a tiny dot and BOOM...another big bang....the whole saga starts again........time circle.......
