Well August would be the wrong month for The Gambia but Madeira isn`t to bad maybe a little too cold for you at 75 degrees
& the beach situation unless you go to Old Machico then one struggles however there are some good Lavada walks & excellent tours to different parts of the island.Perhaps Tunisia or even the Sahara there is a hotel in the middle there which has a pleasant outlook Sand in all directions!

i had a great time in Costa Rica. lots of beaches. lots of jungle. i flew into San Jose. stayed there a few days. went to several resorts on west coast. visited an active volcano. nothing is expensive yet. people are very friendly. weather was not to hot.

GOA now whenever beautiful beaches many you can have to yourself plenty restaurants and bars for your evening out and best of all HOT,HOT sun-shine every-day.
