That's what I've heard. I heard that a 14 year old girl got fined like $20,000 for doing it. I don't know if it's true but it can't hurt to safe and not do it. It would be safer to borrow Cd's from friends and rip the songs off them.

The chances are you won't be punished by law-enforcement agencies or record companies - but limewire slowly ruins your computer. All of my friends who use it have to rapidly close down spyware when they start up, have tens of uninvited programs running, get random alert messages every hour or so and generally have computers that behave as though they're running through sludge.

One recently reformatted their PC, and that made it fine again. They decided not to reinstall limewire.

P.S, if you have Limewire, then

Its changed the way i download and made my life and I'm sure other peoples life easier. so "can" you get in trouble? is something I'm not sure of, but what i do know is that, No you wont. Its basically a sharing program and what i mean by this is its like emailing music or whatever to each other. As this is okay to do in this century. So don't worry.

No. Dont waste your money on itunes or any other place you buy music. The only downside to limewire is that you dont get the album art. You wont get adware if you have a firewall. You wont get any viruses.

And as much as now as getting over excited who cares what number songs? I truly have downloaded 500 in an afternoon. And a tip in case you do no longer go away them in a proportion folder human beings won't enable you to acquire from them. in case you do no longer proportion it truly is not honest. If every physique concealed their records there would not be something to acquire.

Well, you can. My friends sister was trying to download a movie and her father came into the room and saw a porn link next to the movie link. Big trouble. He was grounded for 2 months although he didn't do anything.

I am not sure my husband has been doing it for about 1 week now and the way I understand it is it is from person to person so it is like you are sharing files with someone else. I am sure the record companies don't like it.

In a sense yes ... but, what you can do it place your downloaded material in a different folder which you can assign ... and make sure your settings don't allow other to download from that folder that you created.
