Sometimes I can type double letters such as DD with no problem. When the thing is not working right I have to pause to type next double letter(like now) when this hapens I can't use the space bar to double space or the back arow buton. SEE the problem.THIS is for REAL! Please make answer as simple as posible. Preferrably in step by step instructions. Sometimes it works and I never know what I did to cause it. HELP!

Steps:
1. try a new keyboard. It could be that simple
2. Change the interrupt on the keyboard (go into start>settings>control panel> system > hardware> device manager. Click on the + next to keyboard and you will see a new thing show up under it which is your keyboard driver. Double click the keyboard and you should have an option to delete that driver. Do so. Click ok until you are out of the device manager and restart.

Your keyboard may be going bad. Or you may need to clean it. Turn it upside down and gently shake it. Stuff might fall out. You can tap it a bit with each hand to try to remove any dirt. Also if you have a can of compressed air, blow it out. You could use a portable air compressor if you know someone who has one.
A new keyboard these days if not that expensive.

go to control panel in the start menu and select 'keyboard' -
adjust settings in there, click 'ok' when done..
