it has had new plugs leads dizzy cap rotor arm but still no joy any one got any ideas

Have you replaced plugs? You don't say. If not go with correct ones from Ford!

THEN, start looking elsewhere (module for example).

Did you gap the plugs to 1mm this is important,Check wiring loom under battery tray for white deposits indicating battery leaks and corrosion to wiring,air leaks on inlet manifold gasket,the ignition module and eec 4 ECU fail in non start condition,in 20 years i not changed a ford ECU yet.Check the cylinder compression 25% variation between cyls max indicating head gasket or valve burnt.

Check for air leaks at the plenium chamber/inlet manifold area. Also check the air intake hoses from the air filter to the plenuim chamber as the do tend to go soft and split with age.

well if its a 2.9 your lucky it moves, look at the fuel side of your tune up,maybe a fuel filter and an additive for moisture and afuel system cleaner,if it was your module it would probably act different than that , I like to do the simple things first check your air cleaner also
