Does anyone have an opinion on the best cat litter for a multiple cat household? I've tried them all and each has it's own pros and cons. Some clump good but are really dusty, or aren't dusty but stink or don't clump well etc... What is the absolute all around best stuff to use?

Hi there..although there are many good brands, it depends on what is important to you personally. If you are looking for something practical most of the clumpable brands are inexpensive and easily found at most stores such as Arm & Hammer, Tidy Cats, Scoop Away, etc. For more environmentally friendly products there's Yesterday's News http://www.yesterdaysnews.com/GetPage.aspx?D=8650992&T=3676762 Feline Pine http://www.naturesearth.com/ or Cedarific http://www.amazon.com/Cedarific-Litter-Natural-Cedar-7-5-lb/dp/B000197ZOE/sr=1-4/qid=1167126215/ref=sr_1_4/102-6695445-7258535?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden, SwheatScoop http://www.swheatscoop.com/ , World's Best Cat Litter http://www.worldsbestcatlitter.com/ . The environmentally friendly litters are the flushable litter but a little more expensive yet just as effective as the inexpensive brands at keeping odours under control.

Scoop Away for Multiple Cats w/ deodorizing crystals, & here's a tip, when putting the litter in the pan, mix it with a strong scented
rug deodorant powder, once mixed with littter, it will not kickup a cloud of dust, plus, the stink will stop.

the best litter is the one in a square blue box which is recomended by harry cooper. Its like a thick sandy grain - its odour free, clumps well and isnt dusty. It contains the odours and soft for the cats feet.

Try the Feline Pine. You only scoop out the poo and toss it until the litter is all fluffy then you throw it out or use it as mulch. As long as you scoop once in a while there is NO odor and no dust. Plus it's cheap and easy on the environment and your cats.

they are all based on fullers earth.which has been dried , when i used to work in a laboratory , one of the girls had a cat , what she used was the material that was left from the sieve Analise test, she would keep all the clay and fine materials, she never complained about that and probably that she had an unlimited supply she changed it frequently, one thing as well with fullers earth .if you break down the cat litter (unused of course) and sieve ,mix with water and spatula , you will then get a cheap inexpensive face mask .

I have six cats and LOVE Arm and Hammer scoopable. Not only does it keep the smell under control, but it clumps perfectly. You only have to make sure you have enough in the pan.
