It could be the effect of the pill. Your body was so used to the pill and now it's trying to cope with it. You should ask a doctor.

I had this, and was diagnosed with PCOS, a lot of people assume that no periods means PCOS due to infertility, but I was told that both too many and too little periods can be a sign. I'd suggest going to your doctor and requesting a blood test :o) Generally they are very helpful, and PCOS is treatable with the pill, metformin, or diet.
Could also be signs of other things, this is just from experience.

EDIT :- I was the same, I came off the injection after 2 years and had regular monthly periods for 6 months before my patterns changed and led to my diagnosis, if you put weight on while you were on the pill this can agrivate underlaying conditions. I'd say see a doctor and explain the history of everything, chances are they'll suggest a blood test and see where it goes from there.

Hope everything works out ok :o)

You need to make an appointment with your Dr. It could be hormonal. It also could be the signs of the HPV Human Papoloma Virus. Don't be scared or alarmed. Just get ck out. There are medicines that they can give you to straighten out your periods. I have just recently went through this. About 7 years ago I had a pap come back abnormal. My periods where already messed up but... I was pregnant and I could not go by that directly. Any way I never went back to see what the problem was with my pap smear. (family problems made it difficult) Just a few weeks ago I went in for a ck on my irregular periods. They did a pap and found out I was on the Verge of having full blown cervical cancer. This was caused by HPV. They said it took years to get to this point. They had to go in a cut out all the bad cells and burn the rest. Mind you..... this experience was not painful....... just uncomfortable. It really sounds worse than it was. But the point is just have yourself ck out. Don't wait.

Stress also causes this. Are you stressing?

Good Luck to you............. call the doc.

I have pcos. and believe it or not it is a type 2 diabetic trait. They will most likely give you glucophage for it. The glucophage will make you fat. If you see a doc and it is pcos get a blood glucose test before taking the drugs. If you are in the 120 to 140 range you are prediabetic. Type 2 diabete's is naturally curable. If this follows true for your condition contact me... there is a natural alternative to the condition that doctors don't tell you about. I followed this system, which is not a whim, but proven eastern medicine and not only am I regular now, but I've had four kids, am in my target weight range, and my diabete's doesn't exist anymore. And no, you don't have to buy anything from me to do this... it is diy.

This is possibly fibriods I had this for many years and it got worse, but I toughed it out. Which was a mistake I think. When I finally had enough I insisted they did something more than just say oh its your age, cos it wasn't when it first started. Anyway I had a hysterectomy and they found I had a huge fibriod weighing 3lbs. Not the biggest the doctor had ever seen but pretty close.

that's really heavy hon, definately not normal. This heavy blood-loss could lead to anaemia and other health problems so I'd reccomend going to the doctors to get checked out.

Heavy and irregular periods can be syptoms of many health problems like infections or a bad diet or hormone problems, one of the most severe possible causes is pelvic inflamatory disease, which can lead to infertility if not treated.

It might be a small problem that will do you no harm, on the other hand...

Pop down to your dr, and remember, don't be embarassed - they deal with this sort of thing all the time; its their job :)

Best wishes, x

your weight has nothing to do with it. Some girls tend to have irregular periods, you might want to be checked though for cysts on your uterus. If everything is ok, a Dr. can put you on birth control pills to help regulate your periods.

go see your doctor - ask for a female one if you would feel more at ease. there are some underlying conditions that could be causing this or even stress can do this to your cycle. get it checked out as it may be that the pill could help
