when i started out, i surfed guitar tab sites for bands like Green Day, the Offspring, Rancid, and then also some easier classic rock stuff like Creedence Clearwater Revival, the Beach Boys, Elvis, and Johnny Cash. They are all pretty easy to learn.
Try to learn both bar chords and regular chords.

the first song i learned to play was "lowrider" haha then i learned "smoke on the water" and then "46&2" by tool. all with out the sheet music and on a right handed guitar. i play left handed and learned them all by ear.
