I stoppedbleeding about 3 weeks after delivery. then at 4 1/2 weeks i started bleeding a little bit for 2 days. then while breast feeding a huge gush came out which soaked through my pad and all my clothing. there were clots in it, then the bleeding stopped. a couple of days later the whole thing happened again, 2 days of slight bleeding then big gush with clots while breastfeeding. it is bright red blood, no bad smell. has anyone experienced this? It happened last night, 6 weeks after delivery

I bled very heavily and horribly after my second bub, because I retained part of the placenta. Usually if this happens they want to do a d & c. Either way, by this stage you really should have stopped bleeding, and the fact that the blood is fresh is a bit of a concern, so I'd switch off the computer and go see a doctor, love. Good luck.

go and see your doctor. It doesn't matter what experiences other people have had, without a medical examination there is no way to tell what the problem is. Do it as soon as possible because if it is something serious, which hopefully it isn't, but if it is, best know straight away. Even if it's nothing you may need iron tablets or something to compensate for all the blood you have lost.

Good luck and congratulations on the new arrival.

I did, and the Dr. kept telling me I was having my period, even though it was on and off every few days for 3 months. I wasn't breast feeding either. The breast feeding I did with my next baby made my periods normal, they didn't stop like I had heard they are suppose to, but I didn't have that heavy bleeding like you are. It was normal like before I got pregnant.
