The last books I bought were for my son for Christmas:
Small Steps by Louis Sachar (the sequel to Holes) and The Lost Colony by Eoin Colfer (Book 5 in the Artemis Fowl series)

The last book I bought for myself was Playing With Fire by Gena Showalter.

actually... solely because so many people have been discussing it on yahoo answers, my last trip to the store I picked up a copy of "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer. Vampires aren't really my thing, but I did enjoy it and can see why so many of the girls LOVE it.
Same trip I also grabbed "America the book: the teacher's edition" by Jon Stewart for 50% off.

Xmas gifts included a $100 gift cert for book soup (a great indie bookstore here in LA) so I am looking forward to aquiring a big batch of new books soon! :-)
