Oranges require a little warmer climate. Apples grow in just about any climate. A dryer climate is not very suitable for apples but if you live in the Pacific Northwest. Happy growing.

Any specific "cultivated" plant of a particular "variety" is called a cultivar.

There are over 7,500 known cultivars of apples. Different cultivars are available for temperate and subtropical climates.

Apples do not flower in tropical climates because they have a chilling requirement.

Oranges, on the other hand, grow in a more varied environment. However, they are grown more in tropical areas as extreme cold is not suitable for its cultivation.
