This usually occurs a few days before menstruation due to hormonal changes. Its not the same for every woman...some remain the same, for others there could be physical reactions (migraines, cramps, nausea etc), for some emotional reactions (mood swings, depression etc), and for others both physical and emotional effects.
I believe there is medication you can take to combat mood swings, but they all have side effects, so its safer for women to deal with it on their own. Plz remember that we can't control or predict our mood swings, nor do we enjoy going thru them and the periods & cramps later. It really helps when the men in our lives (partners, fathers, brothers, buddies etc) are understanding and supportive :)

It has to do with HORMONES, not a woman's brain, and also due to the fact that most women are working, taking care of kids, and a household and need some R&R, and if MEN would help out more, it would help the woman not to be so moody. Hormones and being over worked will make any one moody. Guys do yourself a favor and help out, nothing major, every bit of help is great, and will win a woman over more so, then anything else. Have a happy New Year.

You deal with the mess of periods and then you can tell me. I'd like to see the men put up with bloating, which is swelling, cramps that are like severe diareah, where your stomach knots up and sometimes they hurt so bad you can't help but double over in pain. Not to mention the uncomfortable feel of pads and tampons, or the mess in your panties.
Next time I'll tell you all about pregnancy and how it feels to have a baby.

Because of hormonal changes in their life stages. Changes in the blood levels of these hormones affects the physiological state of the body and therefore the person as a whole.
