I'm connected to internet via LAN. It consists of 50 odd PCs and the server runs on a macintosh machine.
One of the guy have recently managed to sneak into my PC and he deleted all my files.
I do know his IP address. And he is using windows XP service pack 2.

Question :-
Is there a way for me to do as he did to my PC.
Is there any software that will enable me to do so.
Or in simple way how can I attack a PC that is on my LAN...?

There may be a way, but you aren't getting any help on it. A) It's illegal to hack, so you know better to ask on Y! Answers and B) Ask on hacker forums / channels and you'll either get laughed at or hacked again.

Drop the revenge. Figure out how he broke your network, because it's a good bet someone else is going to do it. And secure your network.

Also, don't waste your time on revenge. Any decent power user can take a system from scratch to fully working in a few hours. How long does it take you to do that with your servers?

protect your own comp .. try updating your anti spyware and run a scan, everyday.. you might want 2 stop using your screen name and make a new account.. if not, then, run your scan and then change your password often.. and keep your firewall on.. never use a screen name that will lead back 2 your mail.. never open mail from those you do not know.. in your case, do not open mail from the one you think hacked you.. it's one of his ways 2 get in.. never put addy in profile.. never give out addy in open chat..
