PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language. It is used in conjunction with Windows and Linux O/S and is suited for Web development and can be embedded into HTML.
PHP5 is the latest version, replacing PHP4.
Which is better for a web page project - PHP4 or PHP5?. 5 is more powerful and supports object oriented programming excellently. But is hard to learn and needs extra time to master. So many programmers feel that 4 is sufficient. Also, like any new version of a Software, 5 is considered not stable enough.
