What a poor year for xmas tv! Even the big xmas specials where below par. Doctor Who on Christmas day was so dull I turned off for the last 15 minutes (I am guessing he killed the spider chick and saved the day). Little Britain Abroad was just the same old rehashed sketches in different locations. "Computer says no", "I want that one" etc where getting tired at the end of the last series. Where are the new characters?
Eastenders was the usual suicidal dosage of misery and I am not a fan of the Vicar of Dibley so was stuck there too. Also, did anyone see those awful Ricky Gervais Meets... programs? The one with Gary Shandling in particular was some of the worst tv ever.
And my final moan....repeats, repeats, repeats. With all the major channels now having additional cable channels they seem to just show the same programs on each one. The movie pretty woman has been on three nights on the trot and if that same episode of Torchwood comes on again I may have to smash the screen. Aarrgh!

Please, oh please, oh please. No more "I don't watch telly"/"get out more" answers. Why not answer a question where you have some kind of relevant knowledge? I have been out most days over christmas as I take handicap groups on trips to the Scottish Highlands during the day. It is night-time I like to relax and watch some tv so please stop telling me how to live my life. It is very patronising.

Yes I completely agree and they had the cheek of putting on Harry Potter and the philosopers stone on AGAIN after it was on last year. I have seen it so many times I could probably act it out! they should of played the second in the series. Eastenders was the same misery you would think they would liven up at Christmas even in Eastenders! Coronation street was by far the best programme that day in my opinion the rest was a load of cack!

Totally! The usual mix of 10 year old repeats and unfunny comedians. I found myself watching Al Jazeera which was a change from the UK/US news. The problem is that there is no way to complain about SKY UK satellite TV stations. The BBC isn't much better.
I agree with everything you say.

I agree Christmas tv is rubbish, its always the same, repeats every year.. You would think we would have learned this by now wouldnt you?. Id rather go online and get entertainment that way or spend time with the grandkids, after all christmas is really for them isnt it. There is more to life than watching tv.

I agree.
The reason they repeat old programmes is because they have no new decent ones to show. We put on Royle Family Dvd my brother got. Christmas TV in the UK is always crap. Watch DVD's instead.

I totally agree with you all how rubbish the UK TV is and it is getting worse. What else is there to do if you don't watch television. We should all complain to the BBC. The licence fee is going up again in 2007 again by 3% It will rise to £135.45 from £131.00 so I am told and another 3% next year. It is going to rise for the next 5 years.

One little gem amongst the crap was "The Aristocrats", a film documentary about the world's filthiest joke. It had lost of insights into the lives of comedians,
