why my gba emulator(pc) can't save pokemon mystery dougeon red rescue team?

Does it say "Please exchange the backup memory" or something after u try to save? If it does press shift+F1 then when u want to play again press F1.

Note ~ to sure make pressing shift+F1 works, press shift+F1, move in a different postion, then press F1 if it goes back to the postion were when u saved it works

im' not sure but i'm sure you can save in your GBA
