I think it came out a few days ago. Is it any good. As good as the book (if you've read it)?

ya i recently watched it.
well its overall good but nothing to drool over actually!!
in my opinion the book was alot better but its up to everyone which version ( the book or the film) they will prefer.
its worth going and watch it trust me but only if u loved the book

I saw it last night. It was very well done and really accurate to the book. As with any film they have to miss out certain parts but they do keep the essence of the book.
Grenuoille is amazing. Such a well studied character and perfect for the role. He maintains the fragility and the obsession that comes across in the book.
Dustin Hoffman really nails the perfumier character. The chemistry between him and grenouiolle is wonderful.
The cinematography is simply sublime, it takes you right into the sense of scent and the filthy streets of paris.
Watch it and engage... I hope you will enjoy it.

Yes, saw it yesterday. They did a good job - not the easiest book in the world to adapt. It was quite faithful (i.e. it was really weird). The only slightly dodgy bit is when he makes a new perfume for Baldini.

My mates an I have discussed it and the the part of Grenouille was seriously mis-cast. It would have worked better with someone intense and not so pretty - Joaquin Phoenix, maybe.
