Vauxhall did not make a vectra in 1986 !
if your talking about a 96 vectra then carry out the following .
insert key into ignition .
turn so the light`s come on ( do not start it )
then continuously and alternatively press the 2 button`s on the remote key until the doors lock themselves .
Turn off the ignition .
Get out of the car .
give yourself a pat on the back for resetting your alarm .
don't forget to lock your car back up !

Vauxhall dealer using tech2 they will also want your car pass number its the one on a credit card size bit of plastic usually in your glove pocket.

can only be dobe by a vauxhall dealer with there computer equipment (tech2 )
they will also need the security code for the vehicle to reset it.
used to work for vauxhall

HM. have you tried to disconnect your - from battery? if not .OK be care full. in your right side of your panel in front you can take it out easterly then remove the 17 led cable for 5 min and when you put it in disconnect
