The weather in Spain varies depending on the part of Spain; in Granada, where I live, January is one of the coldest months of the year. We usually have temperatures below zero every night and they do not go up very much during the day; it snows in the mountains whose highest peak is only at about 35 kilometers from the city; that makes the city itself be very cold. Last night I was checking the weather on TV and the temperature was higher in Stockholm!! Anyway, in January it will be VERY cold everywhere in Spain but it rains much more in the northwest and northeast. In the south it has rained very little for a couple of years but you never know...; we hope 2007 will be a rainy year or we´ll have water restrictions in the south!
