I have added a duct to a remote room which previously had no heating or cooling. It seems to have very low air flow.

Contact a heating supply company. You can purchase a remote heating supply fan, that's installed in your duct and with it's separate temperature control, you can vary the degrees in the certain room.

Try reducing air flow from other ducts in the house on the same line. Most vents either have a rectangular bar at the bottom that can be screwed in to reduce the size of the vent opening or a small handle that can be moved thus reducing the air flow. This will increase pressure to the further or remote vent and possibly remedy the problem. Replace filters.

Maybe your new duct should go all the way back to the air plenum with its own starting collar, rather than tap into another duct. If it is a long run to your remote room, you might even need a larger size duct. Partially closing vents to your other rooms would help.

Most fan motors have a three speed setting which can easily be changed by moving the wire to the higher fan sped setting. The fan should be on Medium for heat and high for cooling to get the best performance out of your system

Go to the A/C supply and tell them what size duct, and get a duct fan. They might even have a vent mounted booster fan, that fits to the surface.
