Great question!

While both are equally important, what is done can not be undone, whereas a thought is a purely internal action that can be overwritten through another thought.

However, in the spiritual context of cleansing oneself of evil, erasing our evil hidden thoughts can become more important, since thoughts are the seeds which ultimately manifest in action.

Finally, we judge our near and dear more by their intents than by their actions..... it is only others that we judge by their actions since it is much more difficult to pry into their intents.

Having said all that.... somehow it appears to me as though thought is more important than action.

yes and no.. yes in that thought for the most part is what leads to action. no in that one's actions are the only thing others can observe, but in a way they can try and perceive your general mentality as well...I think thought is more important though in that it comes first, but the actions that comes from them are also very important

Not to other people. Thinking about killing someone is less important than killing someone, just as an example. One is hopeful that your best thoughts are translated into your actions.

What you think bears on your actions to what you will do. So they are both just as important to the other...for one to exsist the other is needed.

Of course not... we think all kinds of horrible things, we seek revenge in our heads, we plot all kinds of mischief. How we work that out and what we actually do is more important... We may think I wish that homeless person had some shoes or a meal, but it means nothing if we don't offer our hand in service to them.............................." You know what I mean, jellybean :) "

Yes, Desire, Actions in Thought, word and deed are the creative process in man. With the tool of thought you can control your actions in word and deed. Always accknowledge all desire as Gods will, and all will as Gods will Do what is before you to do,dedicating all to the service of God and all he created. "The mind is not for thinking, the mind is for receiving thought (from God)

No, eating is more important than planning what to eat.

The old axiom, actions speak louder than words would seem to apply here.

No , they are equally important. if you say what you mean , and mean what you say , you have left no room for misunderstanding. But keep in mind, "thinking" and "knowing" are completely different. you think with your mind ,not your brain , but you KNOW with your HEART.

No, because your thoughts affect only you, while your actions affect all around you.

You will be remembered for your deeds, not that which you kept inside of your head.
