I hate to say this about my fellow sex but some women are just heartless until it's their heart that gets broken then another will come along and great guys like you will retaliate by beraking her heart and so it goes. First off I'm sorry that you had this experience but you are tougher than you might think and this too will pass if you let it. The wort thing for you to do is to let her back in to your heart take some time to heal and you won't with her stay away from her the hurt will get worst and the abuse on your feelings will increase with her. When you have healed them go for another and the right one will follow as long as you give yourself a chance to heal.

Why would you get yourself into a situation that you wouldn't be able to live without someone? You have to have self-love before you can love anyone else. Never, ever let anyone have that kind of power over you. It's good to love someone very much, but you have to have self-worth. If you have that then you will never allow anyone to take you to the top of a building and drop you. That's not to say that you'll never have a broken heart. We all go through that, but you get over it. Good luck.

This only happens to soppy sap men. If you let your guard down slowly and only to women who are worthy this would never happen.
It is possible for soppy saps to get a crush on a girl that is completely un reciprocated but the guy then chooses to blame the girl for the guys irrationality. That is the most obvious explanation to me.
