I think it's both. Women dress for themselves to make them feel good about themselves! Sometimes women.. may dress in a way just to attract men.

"Fine cloth" - isn't that a little 19th Century?
In any case, many women (most I suspect) dress in order to feel they look their best. Some don't even consider whether men would be attracted to them more in certain clothes. Others do dress to attract men.
A lot of women I know just want to like what they see in the mirror and feel as if they have made the most of their appearance.

If it's prom or homecoming or some other important event that you have to dress to impress than we do if not we do it to feel self confident look at the competition of beautiful women on the street. Come on now we don't exactly want to go walking in sweatpants and a baggy tee shirt.

I can only speak for myself.
I dress up for both... alittle for myself to feel good, but mostly I dress for my husband. He loves it when we are out shopping and other men look at me while he walks a few steps behind. Being married over 22 years I like to keep the spark alive by teasing him and it works every time!!

probably a bit of both, if i feel nice, in what im wearing then i feel confident, which is an attractive quality to have. i think men are not nessesarily attracted to a womans clothes, or ahir cut/make up ect, i would say its a mixture of wether she look good over all probably and how her personality appears, like if shes confident, but not overly.

Women dress up because they like to dress up. They like to feel attractive and well groomed. It is just the way we are.

Speaking for myself, it gives a certain sense of power and strength - like armor. I dress usually in a sexy, but professional way with tight skirts, fine stockings and very sexy heels. I know that men ogle and I don't mind. In fact, I enjoy knowing that they want me.

What? Some times you just want to look nice, some women do it to attract men and others do it for themselves.
I like to look nice for my boyfriend and myself, unless I do not want to dress up and just wear sweat pants

We dress up mostly to satisfy our vanity! A good psychology is always important for everyone.It is a way to cheer us up
