Whyaskme's state of affairs is conceivable in case you run NO thermostat, as even interior the caught open place the thermostat acts as a restrict and slows down coolant pass truly. In an extremely few autos working devoid of thermostat could reason overheating simply by coolant passing in the time of the radiator too directly to relax precise (I truly have seen this myself) yet we used to robotically gut thermostats on race autos and use them in simple terms as restrictors. This comparable phenomena grow to be to blame for the old flathead Ford V8's popularity for overheating. old Henry placed 2 water pumps in this engine to grant greater coolant pass, and truly made the engine services to overheat simply by fact the coolant moved by way of it too speedy to truly quiet down. Many a warm rodder fastened his flathead's tendency to overheat by utilising the easy act of slicing the belt that ran the 2nd water pump. yet no way will it reason a blwn head gasket except you badly overheat the engine
