All Capital Punishment is wrong in my opinion. Evidently the men that did the hanging think so too or they wouldn't have worn hoods to cover their faces.
Saddam's hanging was just a distraction from the real issues, for example, where's Osama Bin Laden, the mess of a civil war in Iraq, and the fact that Bush has lost his mind.

Yes, it is. I think it is also hypocritical. It is wrong to punish someone for killing a human being by commiting the same act oneself.
I believe that both George W. Bush and Saddam Hussein should be kept alive. They need extra time in order to come to a realization of all the evil they have done.
I do not like the American style of execution through capital punishment. One bad hypocrisy is execution through shooting. A number of gunmen are lined up and only one gun has the potentially fatal bullet. The gunmen are not told which one has it. In this way they can live with the thought that they themselves might not be the killers. Their conciences presumably are appeased through this action. However, to the extent that they are all willing participants in the killing setup, they all are killers. The fact that their consciences must be appeased tells me that they know it is wrong.

I am deeply concerned...yes, even over the execution of Saddam. I do not believe in execution; no matter the reason. Humans are playing God. Who are we to judge? By executing others and/or the carrying out the death penalty we are doing the exact same thing the criminal did. How is this correct/just? God is the only one who can judge these people. I understand that many people suffered as a result of his cruelty, but I cannot agree with, nor tolerate humans' justification of killing another. If they wanted to punish him, they should have made him suffer in a harsh prison. How can people celebrate the death of another human being no matter how hated? It is mind-boggling to me that people live in glass houses (everyone sins) and yet we judge others for doing "more harsh/cruel" things. Yes, I know you would say there is a big difference between cheating/stealing and killing hundreds of people, but we are really in no place to judge since we are all sinners in one way or another. God and only God should be the one to judge people.

Executing another person is incorrect if progress is what we're after. Modern society has no place for the REAL damaged people who see nothing wrong with venting personal and usually unrelated anger onto other people.
Intolerance and hatred are unacceptable in ANY form. So called 'Forgiving religious people' should NOT be so full of HATE and INTOLERANCE. Take your hypocrisy elsewhere. We're supposed to be teaching the people of Iraq about democracy?
Executing or 'KILLING' to give the correct name, or locking people up and throwing away the key are such ridiculous ideas, it becomes easy to see why we are locked in a non progressive human freezer. I just can't stop laughing!
The solution? Take his power away. Which has been done.
Just do yourself a favoUr...turn of the TV, stop shopping and eating excessively, stop thinking about how attractive you are, or could be, and think about the times you live in, and think about it a little bit more...not too much...just a bit more.
You have the ability to free yourself from anger and intolerance and become a person in your own right. YOU are your own guide. YOU are right nobody else. No religions, No rules from other people. NOT fake ideas of being part of a 'people', NOT fake ideas of 'freedom' which actually enslave you and keep your mind closed!
Should Saddam be executed? OH DO SHUT UP!

I don't know about execution being right or wrong; it is a grey area for me. However, hanging from the right height would break the neck, instantly killing the person. I don't think that's so cruel as a lethal injection, which can be quite painful and takes longer. However, there is probably more that could go wrong in a hanging than in a lethal injection. If the noose is not strong enough, for example, the person could easily be injured without being killed.

No, for religious folks it is the worse way because the victim cannot ask God for forgiveness. With the Iraqis it is definetly the easiest way to go compared to terrorists sawing the heads of victims off with dull kitchen knives.
Saddam will likely fall through the scaffolding breaking his neck and pooping his pants.

Not only hanging, but all forms of capital punishment, including lethal injection and electrocution, are barbaric and should not be allowed in any country that claims to be "civilized" in this 21st century. It makes more sense to lock up the criminal for the rest of his life, rather than to take away that life from him, something that we as humans do not have the right to do, anyway. I hope President Bush and his brother Jepp are listening: they should stop the lethal injections now!! It is barbaric, even in the case of Saddam. After all, more Iraqis have died through suicide bombers than he ever killed!!

If Saddam is hanged, he will be a martyr to many Iraqi's and only more violence will come of it. Hanging is considered a shameful way of being executed, compared to firing squad, etc.

No I think it is too quick and painless. There should be tourture in his case. Long and painfull. Take months to kill him. Maybe let ants eat his face first. Then cut of his boys with a butter knife. A little rack, Break every bone in his body one at a time. A few othere grizzley things then at the last let him bleed to death.

With all this freakin concern for the feeling of the criminal scum and going out of our way to make sure his death is as freakin comfortable as possible why isnt this same question coming into issue when its the dirtbags victim?! did the perp make sure the victim felt no pain or didnt die cruelly?
