well, iit is indain institute of technology.
one f the toughest parts is getting in. this is by writing an iit-jee (joint entrance exam) and for this you need some prior training to help u out. there are alot of places where they offer this kind of training just so you can get into the institute. depending on where you live, and also how badly u want to get in, you can choose the best coaching.
i once read a quote, "iit-jee is not everything, it;s the ONLY thing"
so u see, iit is not a breezer. you need all the hardwork and determination you've got.
iit is basically for enginneering courses. that is basically, phys, chem and math. if you are puking at the thought of these subjects, turn around now. you write the entrance after your 12th. so you have abt 2 yrs time to prepare.
anyway, according to most iit-ans, its an amazing place to learn, to meet people and of course to get great jobs. once you pass out f iit, your life is made.
after you finish your 10th boards, what i would suggest is start coaching for the entrance exams. work hard at it, because tackling school academics, and entrance coaching for iit, not to mention co-curricular activities can take it's toll on you. but if you're ready, go for it
good luck. hope u get in someday. and don't worry if u don't get in, you still have a shot at one of the lesser, but acclaimed other institutes.

First you have to master the school PCM of 11th and 12th. After that spend a little time every day practising on difficult questions. This is sufficient for IIT. If you are willing to do this, you can get free coaching of high quality on internet. Free individual coaching for IIT JEE on internet is better than some paid classroom coaching. Contact leadlion98 [at] yahoo [dot] com. You can also do AMIE and become engineer while earning, though not as good engineer as from IIT.
