The deadline for my college application is January 1st, so I was wondering if I could still send out mail on that day if I needed to.

January 1 is a National Holiday. Like many businesses in the US, the Post Office is closed. Postal workers, especially letter carriers, work very hard, despite the prevailing misconception that they do not. The Post Office will also be closed on January 2 as it is a National Day of Observance for Pres. Gerald Ford. However, Express Mail service is available.

No,also probably closed on the 2nd,due to the death of Pres.Ford.You can still put mail in mailbox by the Post Office,it's picked up daily,it goes to a central processing plant.The processing facilities work 24/7,sorting mail,delivery resumes on the 3rd.

good Friday isn't a federal trip, besides the undeniable fact that it relatively is a state trip in some states. because of the fact the placed up place of work is a federal employer, it relatively is going to be open. the subsequent federal trip is Memorial Day.
