Most distinctive dressing theme from then was flapper style.
That's basically those knee-length dresses with different layers of fringe. You don't have to do fringe, really the most important parts are the other details you have. Paired with some high heels, fishnet tights, maybe even a visible garter on your leg, and a band around your head with a feather in the back and a nice feather boa.
You can find plenty of flapper costumes if you do a web search :) I didn't explain the little head band thing very well, but that is one of the most important parts. If you have ever seen the movie "Fever Pitch," they have a Great Gatsby party in it, and you can see lots of people with the 1920s style.
Good luck and have fun!

A Charleston dress with low waist line, flirty long string of pearls (maybe a feather boa) and a retro hair pin with shiny details (or a long feather). Red lipstick and smudged gray eye shadow is a must.

A bag of sequin's tailored to just move around your body, matching low heeled pumps or slippers, matching wide bikini panties, no bra, matching skullcap rolled on the outside, and if you smoke a long cig holder and tiny purse. And a huge fake fur coat, or raccoon if you can find it.
