xbox 360 newbie?

Question

Hi,

I got an xbox 360 and dont know alot about it, what cool things can it do? What's xbox live all about and what games should I get?

Its been a while since I had a console, my last one was a nintendo 64.

FORGET THE FAN! If your Xbox is overheating something is wrong with it. Also you don't have to be connected to the internet to "get the most" out of your new console. A pack of beer, some good buddies, and a nice TV will be more then sufficent. Some of the neat things I have done is load my music on to the hard drive so I can play it over games. You can make a playlist and choose to play the songs over your games. I have loaded my own photo's onto the hardrive and made them into a screen saver while I listen to music. Also if you buy the Rainbow Six game you can load your own photo onto the men using the 360 cam. It plays DVD's wonderfully. Going through HD DVD connection can make old DVD's find new life. Add on the HD DVD player for $299 and get even better picture. Again forget the fan. I have played, and I'm sad to admit, 10 hours straight Halo with over four people on my one Xbox without any of this so called overheating. Add online features like downloading movies in HD, or shows, songs, games, demos, and more and you are likely to never want to go outside again! Xbox live is simply just their little web browser. You can't actually check email or anything like that but in the "Marketplace" there is hundreds of things to do. Add money as you go to get "points" do download things you want.

There are so many good games for the Xbox 360 it would take me all night to write this. Gears of War is a just shoot and shut up. FEAR is a scary, thriller, shoot em up. You got your Tomb Raiders and your racers. You really can't go wrong. HAVE FUN!!!

Wow a 64 hey... Well gaming has come a very long way since those. The stuff your 360 can do will blow your mind! Where to start?!
OK so you've got to get Gears Of War... Best game around if you don't mind the blood and guts! - The graphics are outstanding! - You'll want to sign up for Xbox live to play online with other people provided you have Broadband at home! Then there's the music player, video player and picture viewer... If you have a PC at home you can link the 360 to the PC over your LAN to display your pictures and play your music on your TV! The list goes on and on. It truly is the future of gaming!!!!

Xbox live is great but you need decent connection and you do have to pay for it but lots of fun you can buy a wireless plugin to save on ugly cables if you have wireless internet and someone said you need the extra fan i have had mine over a year and it has never overheated you just need to ensure the back is not hard against your entertainment unit so it can breath you may need to cut the bac k of your unit because the cool fans are at the back of the console, games to get would have to gears of war, project 8 tony hawk , tiger woods golf 07, call of duty 3, need for speed most wanted but not carbon filter as it is to easy and a kiddys verson,fight night round 3 if you like boxing, there are loads of great games out now all depends on what you like if you hace a surround sound system with a optical input you can run your xbox through your sound system highly recomended and then you can put some of your tunes on the hard drive and use as a music player with visuals on your tv if you want i am probably biased as i love my xbox but theres loads you can do with it plays dvds well too

Make sure you buy the accesory fan for it because they don't tell you that you need it and if you don't get it your console will get EXTREMELY hot!!
