Okay, I'm not talking about simply making a left or right turn. I'm talking about when you are in a parking lot and you make a sharp turn or do a U-turn and there are water puddles around and it's raining.

without know the car or test driving it I would guess that you have loose wires somewhere in the ignition system. Turning really sharp is causing a short or disconnect and the car dies. This could be caused by the engine shifting due to the sharpness of the turn or maybe a part of the suspension moving and touching the loose wire or component.

This is something that I would take to a reputable small garage and have them look for it. Or you could try using a flower watering bucket, with engine running and hood open, turn wheel all the way to one side and gently pour water around the sides and rear of engine. Then repeat with wheels turned the other way. This might help to zero in on the area of the problem.

u have a hairline crack in the coil. u can find it easy, just follow the center wire from the distributor. if the coil is shot, u wont get any spark; it starts with the coil, and the distributor sends it to the plugs.
easy way to test. next time it does it, give it a squirt of wd-40 to drive the moisture out. if it starts, u know the coil needs replaced.
been there, done it on a '76 duster.
